What Color Is Your Favorite Deck?

Hearthstone Huddle

By now I’m sure you’ve heard (or seen) the comparisons between Magic: The Gathering and Hearthstone. Card names and game mechanics, just to name a few. So I got to thinking about one of the main differences between the two. Color. Many of the themes in Magic are color based and the symbiosis between those colors. In Hearthstone, there are no colors to speak of but only heroes. But what if there were?

Druid – Green. No question. Nature and tons of it. Big taunts and draw spells. Has some healing in there too so it could be considered  white too but not enough to add it for me.

Hunter – Green/Black. Lots of nature in here too but too much secrecy and direct damage not to throw in another color. An argument could be made for red but the traps are kinda shady so black it is.

Mage – Red/Blue. Tons of direct damage so red is obvious but a lot of freezing and water based creatures to go along so I have to add blue in as well.

Paladin – White. Healing spells. Attack boosts. Cards that alter attack power or give divine shield. These cards are all white and not even close to any other color.

Priest – White/Blue. Similar to pally with all the healing but there is a dark side. Could be black or red with the direct damage but I’m going blue. A few different cards that take control of enemy minions is a total blue trait in the Magic world.

Rogue –  Red/Black. Direct damage and tons of it. A certain stealth aspect plus the use of poison helps to add black into the mix. A lot of deception otherwise could be red only.

Shaman – Red/Green. Easily the hardest class to assign color. Lots of nature cards and plenty of spells to boot but easily could’ve been blue/green or blue/red.

Warlock – Black. No contest for the other colors. Almost all cards come at the expense of the user making it mono black. Only considerable other color is red but that’s just a handful of direct damage cards.

Warrior – Red. Some direct damage. Lots of charge cards and weapons making it feel like more direct damage. A good amount of defensive cards so white could be considered, but no healing so that’s out.

So there you have it. Thanks for reading and leave comments if you disagree.
