A Mountain On The Horizon

Hearthstone Huddle

Welcome Back! There’s a new set headed our way and it comes in the form of another single player adventure. This time we’re headed to Black Rock Mountain. It releases in April and there’s 31 new cards in the expansion. There’s 5 wings just like last time and they cost 6.99 each (or 700 gold) but if you buy them in bulk they are cheaper. Also, if you pre-order you’ll get an exclusive card back. They’ve released 5 cards so far and I’m covering them below.

Rend Blackhand. Neutral Legend. An 8/4  for 7, he has battlecry that says if you’re holding a dragon, destroy a legendary creature. This card has value because of the battlecry ability but it’s so expensive and will die quickly with its low health and susceptibility to Big Game Hunter.

Grim Patron. Neutral Rare. A 3/3 for 5 so terrible on cost. But whenever this minion survives damage, you summon another Grim Patron. That’s an insane ability and I could just see a warrior running these and filling the board with them.

Hungry Dragon. Neutral Common. A 5/6 for 4, its battlecry gives your opponent a random 1 drop creature. This card is fantastic because it’s great on cost and a has a big body for a measly 4 mana and a lousy 1 drop. Sign me up.

Blackwing Technician. Neutral Common. A 2/4 for 3 that has battlecry and reads, if you’re holding a dragon gain +1/+1. A nice 3 drop which good stats, these cards lead me to believe this set will be full of dragons. It plays nicely with the many other dragons already included in the game.

Dark Iron Skulker. Rogue Rare. A 4/3 for 5 mana so not good on curve but it’s battlecry effect may make up for it. As it comes into play it deals 2 damage to all undamaged enemy minions. Which, if you’re playing aggro, is pretty darn destructive to the enemy board. This card basically gives you a 4/3 and a Consecration for 5 mana which is very solid.

Well that’s it for this week and as always, thanks for reading!
